Illuminate, combines several seasonal religious and cultural festivals that happen around this time of year, including Diwali - the Hindu Festival of Light, the Mexican Day of the Dead Festival and Halloween, which has roots in the Celtic Festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints/All Souls.
Phoenix52 invites you to an exciting evening of art installations, interventions, performance, festive games and a pumpkin lantern carving competiton - come along in fancy dress costume and bring lanterns & carved pumpkins to take part in this family friendly event. The event runs from 5.30-9.o0pm, with a lantern parade starting at St Ambrose Church at 6pm.
There will also be free Mask, Lantern & Shrine Making Workshops for adults and children at St Ambrose Church, Stretford Road, BS5 7AW between 1-3pm and Gingerbread & Woodman's Skills Workshops in St George's Park all from 1pm.
